Who we are

ProofBox is a Canadian web studio. This page says what we collect, from whom, and why.

Businesses we contact

We collect what a business already publishes: its Google Business listing, its website, and its public social pages. We run speed and search checks on the website and keep screenshots of it. We use this to decide whether to build a preview and, if we do, to build it.

We do not buy lists. If you reply 'no thanks' to a message, we add your business to a do-not-contact list that we check before every message, and we stop. Our messages follow Canada's anti-spam law: each one says who we are and how to stop them. If you write back to us, we keep the exchange with our notes about your business.

Visitors to this site

There are no accounts and no cookies of our own on this site. It has two forms, the preview request and the Talk to us form; what happens to what you send through each is under "The preview request form" and "The Talk to us form" below. When you open the calendar on the Talk to us page, Google's booking page loads inside it, and Google's privacy notice applies to what you do there. Cloudflare Web Analytics counts visits without cookies or personal identifiers. The code box runs in your browser and sends nothing to us; it opens a page on previews.proofbox.ca. Cloudflare, which hosts the site, keeps standard server logs.

The preview request form

The form on the Get my preview page asks for your business name, your website or listing link if you have one, what to preview, your name, your email and your phone number. We also keep the time it arrived and the description your browser sends of itself and your device: its browser, operating system and their versions.

We use it only to build your preview and send it to you. It is stored as a record in our storage at Cloudflare, and we learn of it by an email to us with the same details. The record is deleted after 90 days, at our monthly clean-up.

The Talk to us form

The form on the Talk to us page asks for your name, your email, your phone number if you give it, and your message. We also keep the time it arrived and the description your browser sends of itself and your device: its browser, operating system and their versions.

We use it only to reply to you. It is stored as a record in our storage at Cloudflare, the same storage as preview requests, and we learn of it by an email to us with the same details. The record is deleted after 90 days, at our monthly clean-up.

Previews and the health check

A preview is built from public information and shows the business's own name, services and reviews. It carries no tracking beyond the same analytics. It comes down on the date shown on it.

The receptionist demo

The receptionist runs on a separate service with its own notice. The sample on this site is a recording of a call with a fictional business; no real caller is on it.

Your calls page

If you are a ProofBox receptionist client, your calls page at my.proofbox.ca shows the calls your receptionist took. You log in with a link we email you or with your Google account; either way we check only that the email address is the one we have on file for your business, and we store nothing else from Google. The page sets one cookie that keeps you logged in for thirty days on that device; logging out removes it. The calls, transcripts and caller details on the page are the ones in our receptionist's records, described under "The receptionist demo" and in your service agreement.

The example websites

The example websites on this site are for invented businesses. Their photos are from Pixabay, and their names, addresses, phone numbers, reviews and ratings are invented. None of them is a client.

Questions

Send a message or book a call on the Talk to us page. If an email address is listed in the footer, that works too.

See it working for your business before you pay.

Ask for your own preview, talk to us, or enter the code from our message.
